That's a good score for The Lives of Others. It's playing here, but while I can read German subtitles fairly well, spoken German is a much bigger challenge.

Is it fairly dialogue-heavy? And how well do the visuals and sound help convey the story, themes, etc.? Thanks for any help you can provide.

You might want to wait until you can see it with subtitles. It's an excellent film, but often time characters who are speaking aren't shown on the screen. I imagine that would be difficult for someone not completely familiar with the language to follow.

The visuals are strong, for sure, but it's got a lot of dialogue, no doubt.
